这又是一部由斯蒂文·斯皮尔伯格执导、约翰·威廉姆斯配乐的电影。然而不管从影片还是配乐来看，都被证明是一部令人失望的作品，甚至跻身威廉姆斯最平庸的作品，没有他引以为豪的主题挖掘和情感陈述。对电影中强调的飞行、浪漫和来世主题相关的配乐都惊讶的给人以死气沉沉的感觉。唯一不错的是其中的几首流行和乡村歌曲，包括Lyle Lovett的“Cowboy Man”和The Platters的“Smoke Gets in Your Eyes”。
