　　这是约翰·威廉姆斯70年代第一部捕获了公众想象力的非爱情主题配乐大作。配乐的CD版已发行超过10年，但这是最忠于原版的版本。音乐的核心仅是2个音符的不断重复，描绘了鲨鱼的逐渐临近（但你却看不到鲨鱼），也就是仅仅这2个音符，却变得如此的著名，它被应用于很多地方（包括威廉姆斯为《一九四一》所作的配乐）。它在整个配乐中出现了很多次，不过大都比较含蓄，再加上其他一些令人难忘的短音符，使观众深陷于对鲨鱼的恐惧当中。本片周年纪念版的原声中不仅包括原始的40分钟配乐，还另外加入了15分钟电影中的配乐。24位技术应用在重新灌录的这张CD中，使音乐整体质量得到了提升，有趣的是，更清晰的灌录使我们从中听出了威廉姆斯将某些元素应用在了他后来的《第三类接触》等配乐当中。这不仅是威廉姆斯被看作为超级作曲家的开始，也是他第一次用音乐属性来确定他的职业生涯的开端。
